Skunks require you prepare their meals (raw turkey, egg, veggies, etc.), are very poorly understood by vets, will have serious bad side effects if given medicine made for another animal, are not 'cage animals', and are smart enough & strong enough to open fridge/ cabinet doors and therefore require baby-proofing the house.

All I will say is this, Legality = / = Legitimacy.

I've never seen a skunk before anyway but I'd think they're classed as pests. You'd probably need to keep it inside.
